HELLO WORLD!

'Ello, friends! I'm back. And because I'm suffering from lack of inspiration, I'm just gonna go random. Random is good, right?;)

First 0ff, I stole Eldarwen's tag.

1. What was the most embarrassing thing you've ever done in public?

Um, I don't know...?

2. Would you rather have a hot dog, or hamburger?

Hamburger. I no longer trust hotdogs. Because I do not know what is in them.

3. Do you like to sing?

Um, with a group, yes. On my own? No way. I have a horrible voice. I'll only sing if there is NOBODY else in the house.

4. What is currently your favorite song?

Aw geez! That's tough. I'll probably have to go with "Our Song" by Taylor Swift.

5. Have you ever eaten sea weed?

YES!!!! And I didn't like it:(

6. Do you play any sports? If so, what sports do you play?

You know I do! I play volleyball and am in love with the entire game. I can't wait till the start of the fall season. I hope to make the gold league (the highest level before college volleyball) next spring:).

7. Can you whistle?

You know I can.

8. What would you say is your best talent?

Probably...writing. I'm still extremely amateur at photography. Oh, and drawing. I just finished my Robin Hood poster, did you hear? I've got Robin in the middle and Marian next to him and Will above her and Much next to him and Allan below him and Djaq below him. It's soooo cool!!!!

9. Rain or shine?

Shine. Rain depresses me. (most of the time)

10. Inside or outside?

Outside, except when it's stinking hot or freezing cold.

I award anyone who hasn't done this:). Oh wait, I need to make up questions! Here I go:

1. What is your favorite quote from a book?

2. If you could live in any book, which wo
uld it be?

3. What are your favorite song lyrics?

4. Winter or summer?

5. Think fast: Paris or Rome?

6. Chocolate or lollipop?

7. Country or pop?

8. Think fast: Artemis Fowl or Percy Jackson?

9. Model or photographe
r?

10. Amusement park or water park?

Just cause I'm so awesome, I'm gonna answer them myself:).

1. Ani watched the fire turn the hearthstones gold. "Maybe I did. Maybe I hoped I'd return home someday and people would say, we were wrong about her. And they'd realize I'm special and beautiful and powerful and all that." --The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale (that's only one of many)

2. Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan. Camp Half-blood sounds sooooo amazing!!!! Archery practice, rock walls with lava beneath, the fencing arena, and they have a VOLLEYBALL net!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3. I tried to be perfect But nothing was worth it I don’t believe it makes me real I thought it’d be easy But no one believes me I meant all the things I said
--Pieces by Sum 41 (one of my favoriteist songs ever)
(again, only one of many)

4. SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5. Don't make think like that!!! Who made up these stupid questions? Oh, right...I did. BOTH.

6. Chocolate. I don't like lollipops. (kudos to whoever gets that quote first. Golden Eagle...)

7. Pop. Country can drive me crazy, most of the time.

8. OOOOHHHH!!!!!!!! Why did I do this to myself????!!!!! Well...I'm gonna have to go with Percy Jackson. Sorry, Artemis. You know I love you too.

9. I like to be both!

10. Water park!!! I can go on almost anything there, but not so at amusement parks.

There you are!

Second order of business.

Merlin and Arthur

This ^ ^ could very well become one of my new favorite tv shows. (though not over Robin Hood...never.) It's called Merlin and it's also put out by the BBC. Isn't that amazing? I love BBC. They're epic. I blame Molly and Maxine. See, I got them started on RH, and they get me started on Merlin. I love the main character:). And Arthur, even though he's a jerk.

Third order of business.

Shaynie awarded me! Thank you Shaynie!

The rules:
I have to tell you where I see myself in 10 years and award a few people
.

Wow. Ten years from now. I hope to have at least two books published and be a New York Times Best-selling author. Lofty, huh? I'm gonna go for it. Perhaps I'll be married. But I don't want to get married too young, and I don't want to think about children yet;). (i love kids, though, just so there's no confusion.) Part of me wants to have traveled the world, but the other of me is a big home-body.

I award:

Melody
Olive Tree
Memzie
Katelyn
________________________________________________________________

Besides our wonderful United States (or the country you live in), what other countries do you like? Not just the countries you want to visit, but places that interest, intrigue, and inspire you. (i like that combination of words...) Mine are:

Russia. About a year ago I went through a huge Russian phase and had to read all things Romanav-era (1917). This time period and family fascinated me.

Spain. Spain also happens to be a big influence on my book, Cymbeline. The passion, the vibrancy, the color, the pirates, and especially in the 1700's. Adventure is calling.

Turkey. This stems, again, from Robin Hood. One of my favorite characters, Djaq, is a Saracen (from Turkey). After some time, I mastered her awesome accent (it's fun to do) and just the whole culture of this country fascinates me. The desert, the clothing, the styles, the "look"...

Portugal. This is similiar to Spain--I first became interested when I started writing Cymbeline. Plus, it's not a place you hear a lot about.

How about you?

I love this avatar.

Yeah, it was random, but that's me. Randomness!

Former glory, versatile blogging, and header questions

First order of business! *bangs gavel on desk*

Alrightey then.

1. Olive Tree at HorseFeathers is having a giveaway! The prize is a complete blog makeover! Do be sure that you tell her that I'm the one who referred you, as this earns me an extra entry per person! So what are you waiting for? GO CHECK IT OUT!!!!!

2. The Golden Eagle awarded me! Thank you!

1. Thank the person who gave you this award (check)
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Pass the award along to 15 bloggers who you have recently discovered and who you think are fantastic for whatever reason! (in no particular order…)
4. Contact the bloggers you’ve picked and let them know about the award.

I think I broke my toe today, the littlest one. I stubbed it, it bled, and it now hurts like heck. Not much the doc can do for broken toes:(( But it could have been worse, so I am thankful that that is the only thing wrong with me!

I am obsessed with the band Sanctus Real. If you have not heard of them, then... well I don't know what but you really need to hear them!! Their cd "Fight the Tide" is excellent, as are their songs "We Need Each Other" and "Whatever You're Doing (Something Heavenly)". They're Christians and have some of the best Christian rock I've ever heard.

My shirt is the color of lemonade!

I'm reading The King of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner right now. OH. MY. WORD. Doesn't that tell you enough?

Last night I watched the movie The Patriot. It was really good but extremely violent. Not to mention the fact that my favorite character dies. Hel-lo? It seems nowadays that good characters always have to die which REALLY ticks me off! It happened in Artemis Fowl, in Christy, in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, in The Lord of the Rings... the list goes on and on, my friend.

I am completely going to rewrite my book Enslaved. "Not again!" you groan. MUAHAHAHA!!! I'm giving it the new title of The Crossing and using the plot I had for the sequel for this first book instead. And no, no good characters are going to die. I'm not that evil. (well...)

I ♥♥♥ gorgonzola cheese!

I now award...
Molly
Ciara
Memzie
Katelyn
Lizzy
Shaynie
Melody
Nahla of the Eastern Winds
Ivorydancer

Sorry, that's only nine! I always have trouble with this:)

3. Last of all, a question for my wonderful blogging friends. Do you know if it is possible to save my header to my desktop? I want to work on it in Photoshop.

Adios my dear amigas!

Who to award now?

As you've probably guessed from the title of this post, I have some catching up on awards to do. So sit back, have fun, and try not to get too bored!

*drumroll, please...*
Thank you, Shaynie!

About this award:
A prolific blogger is one who is intellectually productive, keeping up an active blog with enjoyable content. After accepting this award, recipients are asked to pass it forward to seven other deserving blogs. (took this from Shaynie's blogXD)

I award:
Molly
Ëarwen
Paige
Morgan

And... that's it. Got ya:)

Presenting...

Thanks, Shaynie!

So here are seven interesting, random things about me. At least, I hope they're interesting.

1. I've roasted a pickle over a fire before. It was at my cousin's house last summer. I kept saying that the next time we visited, I was going to roast that pickle over the campfire in the backyard. And so I did. Hey, it wasn't all that bad! It was pretty good actually! Paige and Lorna got a video of it and called it Pickle News Live. I have a post about it here.

2. I love watching Formula 1 with my dad. My favorite drivers are Sebastian Vettel and Nico Rosberg. It's Monaco, baby!

3. I wish I knew how to fence. Some lessons, maybe...

4. One of my favorite characters in Percy Jackson is Tyson. "Percy, do not get yourself killed dead!"

5. Last summer I lived in the Outer Banks of NC, five minutes from the ocean.

6. I've had glasses for four years, but this is my third pair.

7. I don't have Facebook and am somewhat proud of it!

If you love Robin Hood, then in my mind you are a beautiful blogger.

Coming up next...

Thanks, Guin!

This award should go to Shaynie, but she already has it, so just know Shaynie that you are one of my most faithful commenters:).

Not many people comment consistently, so I'll just award some people who have commented before.

And, lastly...

Thank you, Molly!

I am homeschooled, I have friends, I am not socially challenged, I usually wake up at 8-something, I know there are better ways to use my time, I love spelling, my sister would say I'm a nerd but don't listen to her, and I LOOOOVVVEEEEE being homeschooled!!!

It's an obsession of the awesome kind

First of all, I've been awarded by Guin . Thanks Guin!!

1. Tag at least five 'sweet friends,' on Blogger
2. Answer the tag (below) in your post
3. You may tag the person who gave you this award
4. Don't forget to comment on the post that awarded you!!!

You are _____ in your family. youngest

Do you have your own camera? yep, it's a hand me down from my sister. An HP Photosmart. With it, I've realized that I don't need a 1,000 dollar camera to take awesome pictures!

List three of your character qualities. Um... funny, outgoing (sometimes), and obsessed with writing:)

What is your favorite thing to blog about?
Books and writing.

How long have you had your blog? Since August 2009

I now tag:
Molly @Forever Freckled
Paige @Pixel Paige

On to the second part of this post!!!! Ok so lately I have like just been OBSESSED with this book/tv show called Christy. It's by Christian author Catherine Marshall, and it's about 19 year old Christy Huddleston who goes to teach school in a backwoods mission in Tennessee. I was reluctant to read the book, I mean, it has a really dated 70's cover. But I had to read it for school, so there was no way to get around it. And then... BOOM!!! I am hooked! About 15 years ago they made a tv series that is just as awesome, if not more awesome than the book!! Here are some pics to get you interested:)

Left to right: Fairlight Spencer, mother of some of the children in Christy's school and one of Christy's best friends; Christy Huddleston, heroine; David Grantland, the mission's preacher (who's also pretty cute); Miss Alice Henderson, who sort of runs the mission; Dr. Neill Macneill (no joke); and Ruby Mae Morrison, who lives at the mission and is one of Christy's students.
Just looking at the pic makes me want to watch it!!!

The Great Smoky Mountains where the mission is located.

So, what the heck are you sitting here reading this for???!!!! GO OUT AND READ/WATCH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently I am a stylish blogger. Who knew?

Bonjour, mon amie! I am going to try to catch up on my awards now. Here goes!:)

The Stylish Blogger Award from Shaynie and Guinevere. Thanks guys!!!

Rules:

State 5 random facts about yourself and award 5 other bloggers.

1. I love Formula 1 auto racing. No, NOT Nascar. F1 is mostly European and basicaly the pinnacle of racing.
2. I love the smell of cherry blossoms!
3. I doodle constantly. If I've got a pen and paper, I swear that paper will not stay clean.
4. I make up words all the time. My own special words. Caroline-ish.
5. I'm obsessed with Spain.

Now I tag...
Molly @Forever Freckled
Olivia @Olivia Grace Photography

I don't feel like tagging five bloggers:).

The next one...

The Pure in Heart award, again from Shaynie and Guin! Much appreciated, you two!

If you are awarded:

1. Post about the award
2. Pick 10 bloggers who deserve this award
3. Leave a comment on the blogs of the people you tagged letting them know they were awarded
4. Answer the questions along with your post

Apples, oranges, or bananas? Apples.

How many siblings do you have? One sister, Paige, who is four years older than me:)

How old are you? Why do you want to know? Hehe. I'm between 13 and 19.

Do you live in a prairie, swamp, woodland, city, or other? I've got trees in my backyard. Does that count? There's a lot of farms around here, but where I live is kind of a suburb of the state capitol.

Scissors or glue? Ooo, glue! You have no idea how much I love glue! I love pouring glue on my hands, waiting for it to dry (well not that part), and then peeling it off. I know it sounds little kid-ish, but I do!!! I am obsessed with glue! Plus it is not lethal like scissors are.

Describe your dream house. This could take hours. I love so many different styles. For now, I'll go with a white stucco cottage nestled into a mountainside with lots of little rickety wooden steps and olive groves, overlooking the sea, somewhere in Italy:).

Is your room clean? well, it's not horrible, alright? It seldom stays clean for long.

If you could be a movie character for one day, who would you be? I would be Inigo Montoya from the Princess Bride, because then I would be an amazing fencer!

Italy, Greece, France, Spain, or England? You're not seriously asking me to choose between Spain and France, right? I really do love Spain. But I can't decide. Why are these questions so hard?!

What denomination are you? Presbyterian.

Do you sleep with a stuffed toy? (BE HONEST!!!!) Yup! They usually just sit on my bed and I mostly forgot about them:)

Gum, chocolate, or jelly beans? CHOCOLATE!!! CHOCOLATE!!!! CHOCOLATE!!!!!

What is your favorite book? The Bible! But if you're talking fiction, then it's a close tie between The Goose Girl and Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

Favorite ice cream flavor? Chocolate Moose Tracks from Food Lion. Serious.

If you had to eat one type of food for two weeks, what would that food be? Caesar salad! Healthy enough to eat for two weeks and it tastes good, too!

What is your favorite Olympic sport? Figure skating, volleyball, track

If you woke up and discovered you had turned into Miley Cyrus for the day, what would you do? Give my heaps of money to the ASPCA, Alzheimers Foundations, and homeless shelters.

Describe yourself in three words. Dreamer, daughter, writer.

What chore do you hate? Washing the dishes.

If Elmo came into your room with a gun, what would you do? Stand up and proudly say to him, "Elmo, I always knew you'd turn to a life of crime."

I don't feel like awarding anyone. But, if you consider purity something important and something to be closely guarded, then this award is for you:).

Lastly...

Thanks Guin!

Here are the rules:

1. Get really excited that you got the coolest award EVER.

2. Choose ONE of the following options of accepting the OMB award:

(a) Get really drunk and blog for 15 minutes straight, or for as long as you can focus. (erm...)

(b) Write about your most embarrassing moment. (i have small embarrassing moments, but nothin' big)

(c) Write a "Soundtrack of your childhood" post. (i'll do this)
(d) Make your next blog a 'vlog'/video blog. Basically, you're talking to the camera about whatever. (i look and sound awful on camera)
(e) Take a picture of yourself first thing in the morning, before you do anything else (hair, make up, etc)and post it.(i was going to do this, but my stupid photos won't download onto the computer

Ok, so soundtrack of my childhood. Well right now I'm listening to "The Boys Are Back" from High School Musical 3. I admit I like popular music--my favorite artists are Taylor Swift and Owl City, and I like some Carrie Underwood and one of Jordin Sparks' songs (One Step at a Time). When I'm listening to my favorite things, I'll have a video playing along in my head of one of my stories. Like a music video. For instance, when I hear The Boys are Back I think of Elliot and Julian, my two hero brothers from Cymbeline.
Now I'm listening to the Phantom of the Opera theme. My favorite movie soundtracks are Pirates of the Caribbean, LoTR, BBC Robin Hood, Narnia, Spirit, and of course Phantom of the Opera. I love it when gets into me and makes my imagination soar. It gives me story ideas. Epic music like the Narnia theme make me want to write something good. I love it when the music has as much an effect as does its movie. Music that surrounds me, inspires me, challenges me to write not just good but better

I like Christian artists, too. My favorite of these is Sanctus Real (if you've never heard of them, look 'em up!) I love their songs We Need Each Other, Whatever You're Doing, Everything About You, Alone, and The Fight Song. Love Natalie Grant, too, and her songs Live For Today, Deeper Life, No Sign of It, and I Will Not be Moved. And Stellar Kart!!! They're amazing! Check out the Innocent music video. Hilarious.

I'm not going to award anyone else.

Hope you survived that LONG post! Ciao, bella!

Awards?! When did this happen?!

So, I've been awarded! These are my first awards. I feel very honored.

The first is...

The Hands Stained with Ink award from Shaynie. Thank you Shaynie!!!

If you are awarded, here's what you do:
1) Post about the award.
2) Award 3 other people.
3) Answer the tag!

If you could use one word, what would it be? Palindrome. It's my favorite word.

Use one word to describe yourself
Hmm... why did you have to make it so hard?! Probably "follower." Or "daughter." Follower and daughter of Jesus Christ!

What is a random prhase you'd like to say right now? "I hate bats. Bats are rats. Rats with wings." --Much, BBC Robin Hood season 1

Think up an absurd title for a book: Cinderella the Gangster. (don't ask... about the way my brain works...)

What is the strangest sentence you can think of? Larry is a big purple people eater.

What do you write? Fantasy. Fairy-talish. Epic-pirate sailing the high seas adventures. Epic, vibrant, bright!

Why do you write it? Do you ask Leonardo Da Vinci why he painted the Mona Lisa? Or Beethoven why he composed music?

If you had a weird disease and could only make one sound over and over, what would it be? HI!!!! (i dunno. i didn't feel like thinking too hard about it.)

So now I award:
Lizzy @Tales of a Godly Maiden
Paige @Pixel Paige
Caroline @The Epic Chronicles

Tonight is my third volleyball game! And I had to go and open my big mouth. At practice on Thursday, after we're all sitting down on the bench, I asked Jen (one of my coaches) who the team captain would be for this game. She paused for a while, looked back at me, and said, "You can be." YEPPP. Real smart of me, huh? Well, at least it doesn't sound too hard. I'll just have to tell my teammates not to expect any rallying from me because I am not a good rallyer! :P

I know I have some other awards, but I can't do them now. So, ciao, bella!
